A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
Hello there! I’m Lena, the designer behind The Printed Square Studio, a Berlin-based pattern design studio cultivating nostalgia through whimsical and cheerful artwork.
So here's a little bit about me, I have studied fashion in London and hold an MA in Textile Design. I have 20 years experience working in the fashion and print industry in London, Philadelphia and Berlin. After long stints as an in-house designer for several Fashion and print design studios in London, I set up The Printed Square Studio in the summer of 2023.
Over the years my work has been sold to and featured on a wide range of products of companies such as H&M, Paul and Joe, Calvin Klein, Boden, IKEA, M&S, Filippa K, Ted Baker, Fraas, New Look, ASOS, Harrods, Macy's, Karina Dresses, Perry Ellis and many more.
A love of pretty pastels, vintage novelty prints, delicate florals and retro typography are at the heart of my work. With this in mind, I design patterns for fabric and wallpaper and for kid’s and women’s apparel.
I also create illustrations for paper goods and stationary. Everything is designed on my sunny and plant-filled desk in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg, occasionally interrupted by my son in need of a cheesy sandwich.
